Raising vital funds
Earlier this winter, a group of German-language students from St. Aloysius’ Secondary School in Cork decided to host a German themed coffee morning to raise money for The Donkey Sanctuary.
Coming together to enjoy the tradition of ‘Kaffee und Kuchen’ (coffee and cake), the third-year students drank tea, coffee and hot chocolate, while eating sweet treats and speaking in German!
The group managed to raise €75, which they decided to use to adopt three of our wonderful adoption donkeys.
With our sanctuary now at capacity, and our welfare teams working harder than ever to reach donkeys in the community, the support of champions like the St Aloysius’ students has never been more important.
Our community champions help keep our welfare teams on the road and in the communities where issues like unplanned breading are still leading to donkeys suffering. From fundraising to volunteering, their tireless efforts make a huge difference to donkeys in Ireland.
Thank you to everyone that gets involved and supports us here at The Donkey Sanctuary.
