The latest updates from our four farms

What's new at our farms in County Cork

Cormac Kenny, Farm Manager, joined us in October and we are thrilled to have him on board. Cormac is kept busy as he manages our four farms in Mallow, Cork, as well as assisting with the rehabilitation of the donkeys in our care. This includes providing the correct nutrition, monitoring their health and, most importantly, making sure they have a happy life.

Cormac says: “I love being able to help donkeys that may have been mistreated and developed a nervous behaviour towards humans. Being able to help support my team rehabilitate these donkeys is very fulfilling.”

We work with donkeys to improve their behaviour so they can live their best lives. Nicola Jolly, our equine behaviourist, joined our team in November, and one of her key responsibilities is to observe the donkeys and work with the team to understand behavioural traits in-depth.

Nicola is passionate about understanding donkeys’ behaviour, and she wants more people to understand that donkeys learn based on the consequences of their actions, and their perception of the consequences can differ from ours.

Additionally, we have welcomed a number of new farm grooms to our team over the past few months, and it’s great to see so many new faces. The four farms will be kept busy as summer approaches, and our donkeys simply wouldn’t have the quality of life they enjoy without everyone’s dedication.
